The Little Giant of Aberdeen County by Tiffany Baker

Tiffany Baker’s first novel, The Little Giant of Aberdeen County, is epic in scope, spanning decades and generations of Aberdeen’s town lore, to tell the story of Truly Plaice. Truly was the biggest baby Aberdeen had ever seen and she never stops growing. Elements of the fantastical are weaved into Truly’s story. A fabled witch in the not-so-distant past, iconicly weird characters, and Truly’s ever-expanding size all work in tandem to create a mood of wonder and the bizarre. When Truly finds herself, for the first time, in a position of power, the story takes a suprising turn.

Truly’s story is a fairy tale of sorts. I was drawn in by its tragic beginning and found it hard to put down. Be on the lookout for our next newsletter, which will include an interview with author Tiffany Baker!
